What people say
after they collect their watch.
The measure of a workshop is not what it claims about itself, but what owners notice when the watch comes back.

In their own words.

Brought in an old Seiko automatic that had been in a drawer for about three years. Nattapong ran it on his timing machine, gave me a clear reading and an honest assessment of what it needed. Movement service took nine days — it came back running well within spec. The written report he includes is something I haven't seen from any other shop.

I needed a battery and seal replacement while on holiday. They did it the same afternoon and ran a pressure test at no extra cost. The case came back cleaner than I left it. I did find the workshop a bit difficult to find on the first visit — could do with a sign — but once inside, the service was exactly what I needed.

My father's Omega Constellation hadn't run since the 1990s. I brought it to Cogwise expecting a long conversation about whether it was even worth trying. Instead, James logged it in, described what would be involved, and gave me a realistic estimate. Eight weeks later it was back, running, and photographed at every stage. That documentation matters to me.

I left a Tissot with them for a full movement service. They called before starting to confirm one extra part would be needed and what it would cost. That kind of communication — asking first — is exactly right. Watch came back running very accurately. Very satisfied with how the whole thing was handled.

Battery replacement on my Casio — quick, no fuss, and they told me the crown gasket was starting to show its age without making a big deal of it. Chose to have it replaced at the same time since it was open anyway. Sensible suggestion, fair price. I will bring my other watches here going forward.

My dive watch had started gaining about four minutes a day — noticeable and annoying. Brought it to Cogwise and they explained in plain terms what regulation involves and why the movement had drifted. Timing sheet they gave me on collection shows ±6 seconds per day across positions. Much better. Very professional workshop.

Case Studies
Three watches, three different paths.
Challenge
1968 ETA 2472 — Not Running
A Longines hand-wound with an ETA 2472 movement, received as an inheritance. Had not run in approximately fifteen years. Crown had been over-wound at some point, and a previous repair attempt had left a broken jewel in the barrel bridge.
Solution
Full disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, mainspring replaced, broken jewel assessed and found non-load-bearing so watchable. Regulation run. Replacement mainspring sourced from specialist supplier in Switzerland — two-week delay, owner informed immediately. Work staged in two phases with photographs.
Outcome
Watch now running at +8 seconds per day — within acceptable range for a movement of its age and value. Complete photographic record from arrival to handover. Owner received written history of findings alongside the watch.
"I was prepared for bad news. What came back was the opposite." — R.K., Rawai
Challenge
Citizen Eco-Drive — Crown Seal Worn
A diver's watch used regularly in tropical conditions. Crown gasket had failed, moisture had entered and caused light corrosion on the dial surround. Battery still functional but due for replacement within a year.
Solution
Case opened, moisture evidence noted and photographed. Dial surround cleaned carefully. All gaskets replaced. Battery replaced to avoid a second opening. Pressure test to 10 ATM. Owner informed before dial cleaning commenced — patina question asked.
Outcome
Watch returned with full water resistance, clean movement environment, and a note documenting the moisture event for future reference. Completed same day.
"They showed me the photos of the inside before and after. That transparency made all the difference." — A.T., Bangkok
Challenge
ETA 2824-2 — Gaining 4 Minutes Daily
A stainless diver serviced elsewhere two years prior. Started gaining time at an increasing rate. Previous service had used incorrect lubricant viscosity in the escapement — a finding that only shows up on the timing machine.
Solution
Full movement service with particular attention to escapement lubrication. Timing run before and after showed difference clearly. Written report included both timing charts so the owner could see the improvement numerically.
Outcome
Movement regulated to ±5 seconds per day — well within COSC range for a standard automatic. Seven-day turnaround. Full written record provided.
"The comparison chart showed exactly what the first workshop had done wrong. That clarity was what I needed." — H.C., Sydney
