How do I know if my watch needs a movement service?
A few signs to look for: the watch is running more than two minutes fast or slow per day, it stops and restarts without explanation, the sweep of the seconds hand feels uneven, or it simply has not been serviced in the last five to seven years. Bring it in and we will put it on the timing machine at no charge — that reading alone tells a clear story.
How long does a movement service take?
For a standard movement service, we allow seven to ten working days. If spare parts need to be sourced for less common calibres, that timeline may extend — we will tell you before the work begins. Restoration projects are scoped individually and discussed stage by stage.
Will servicing affect my watch's value or originality?
We take originality seriously. Polishing of cases or dials is only done if you specifically request it. Otherwise, surfaces are cleaned and the existing patina is left as found. For collector pieces, we document the condition before and after so there is a full record.
Can you service any brand or movement?
We work across a wide range of Swiss, Japanese, and German movements — from everyday automatics to vintage hand-wounds and more complicated pieces with calendar or chronograph functions. If a calibre falls outside our scope, we will tell you directly and suggest the right path forward.
What does the battery and seal service include exactly?
We fit a fresh battery of the correct grade, inspect and replace the crown and case-back gaskets, then perform a pressure test to confirm the watch meets its rated water resistance. The case is cleaned externally and you receive a short service note with the date and what was replaced.
Do I need an appointment to drop off a watch?
Walk-ins are welcome during opening hours. For restoration consultations or detailed discussions about a complicated piece, a brief appointment ensures we have the time to give it the attention it deserves. You can arrange this by phone or through the contact form below.
